Our Story
Angela and Beth were inspired to create a unique dining experience in Skowhegan in 2019. Ideas of a Bed & Breakfast were briefly considered. Before they blinked the opportunity to purchase the well known Kel-Mat Café appeared. The vision of turning it into Brick House Kitchen became their dream.
It is impossible to not immediately fall in love with the early 1900s English style home that the café resides. The original beauty of the home makes the dining experience more enjoyable for all. You'll find three attractive dining rooms full of history.
Enjoy fine dining while supporting local families. If you’re lucky, you may just get to dine with Tilly. Angela and Beth found their Whistle Stop Café within Kel-Mat but the secret is in the Soup!
